Selection Process
Calls for Applications
The program opens a selection call for new students every semester. The number of available spots is determined based on the supervision capacity of each advisor in the program, ensuring an even distribution of students among faculty members. The program maintains an average of 5-8 students per permanent faculty member. For collaborating professors, supervision is limited to a maximum of two master’s students.
Another criterion for determining the number of available spots is the number of scholarships provided by funding agencies. The selection criteria are pre-established and approved by the PPG-Biochemistry faculty board and are rigorously reviewed by the UFC Office of Research and Graduate Studies. The entire selection process is conducted exclusively through a public call for applications, which is widely disseminated via email and the program’s social media channels.
