Its headquarters are located in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Block 907, which features extensive physical and technological facilities, including:
- Classrooms and Laboratories: 5 classrooms, 2 practical class laboratories, 16 research laboratories, and 2 experimental animal facilities.
- Support Laboratories: Including tissue culture and algae culture laboratories.
- Common Equipment Laboratories: Used for research and teaching, equipped with modern devices such as chromatographs, spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and more.
- Animal and Plant Research Facilities: Housing for experiments with rats, mice, and plants.
- Auditorium: The “Prof. Iracema Lima Ainouz Auditorium”, designated for academic events.
- Administrative Office: Staffed by two employees providing administrative support.
- Study and Meeting Rooms: A study room with air conditioning and internet access for students, as well as a meeting space for academic discussions.
PPG-Biochemistry is also supported by several specialized laboratories, covering research areas such as plant protein biochemistry, molecular biology, genomics, and plant physiology. These laboratories are equipped with advanced technologies, including chromatography systems, mass spectrometry, incubators, centrifuges, and a variety of biochemical and molecular analysis devices.
